Cherry Milk Juice to Lower Blood Sugar

Cherries are rich in antioxidants known as anthocyanins that can in lowering blood sugar significantly and increasing the production of insulin thus beneficial in preventing type 2 diabetes. This very same anthocyanins can also help in preventing diabetes from causing damage to blood vessels which can eventually lead to amputation and blindness.

 

Other health benefits of cherries are lowering uric acid which can cause gout problems, lowering bad cholesterol and triglycerides levels, reducing inflammation, helping problems of sleep disorders, protecting against stroke and heart disease and reducing weight gain.  This cherry milk juicing recipe contains a total of 1.25 grams of fiber.

 

Ingredients

  • 40 grams cherries, seeds removed

  • 40 grams apple, skin, core and seeds removed

  • 700ml low-fat fresh milk

Method

  1. Place cherries and apple into a juicer and blend well.

  2. Pour fruit juice into a glass, add fresh milk then stir well before serving.
